Administration
Mike Galloway
President & CEO

Mike Galloway was appointed President / CEO of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home effective July 31, 2006.  He previously served as President & CEO of the United Methodist Children’s Home of Alabama and West Florida.  Mike is a professional social worker with a BA and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama.  He has also completed extensive post-graduate training in management and leadership, including an executive leadership program at Harvard University, and is a graduate of the National Center for Faith Based Leadership.

Mike has 44 years of professional social work and human services management experience.  He has previously served as Executive Director of several public and private child and family services organizations including the Alabama Alliance for the Mentally Ill.  Mike has conducted professional development seminars for Dale Carnegie Training, specializing in leadership, team building and executive development and has taught at three colleges and universities.

Mike has received numerous awards, is an active member of the United Methodist Association and a Certified Peer Reviewer with the UMA’s EAGLE Accreditation Commission.  He is a member of the UMA Board of Directors and serves on the Florida Coalition for Children Board of Directors.



Administration
Ruth Moore Administrative Services Coordinator

Ruth Moore has served at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home for over 27 years. She has held her current position as Administrative Assistant to the President & CEO for the past 10 years. Her previous work in the Development Department and as a houseparent has given her a broad perspective of the other departments on campus. Ruth is the liaison for our Board of Trustees. In 2009, she was recognized as Support Staff of the Year by the Florida Coalition for Children.



Development
John Rivas
Vice President of Development

John Rivas, CFRE currently serves as Vice President of Development for the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. Mr. Rivas leads a development team of eighteen and is responsible for providing innovative and strategic leadership in the planning, implementation, and administration of the Children's Home comprehensive development, alumni affairs, and public relations programs and initiatives. Currently, he is coordinating the first-ever statewide capital campaign to construct a 300-acre Youth Ranch in North Florida for the Children's Home.

A certified fund-raising executive with over twenty-three years of development experience, John has served in positions of leadership in several local chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, as well as a past member of the U.S. Government Relations Committee. He has presented at numerous local, regional and national events and has written extensively for national publications.



Development
Mike Cummins
Director of Family Philanthropy

Mike Cummins exhibits a distinguished career spanning four decades in estate and financial planning, as well as non-profit management. A specialist in sophisticated estate and charitable tax planning strategies, prior to joining the Children's Home, he served, for 12 years, as Managing Director of Legacy Planning Associates, LLC in Orlando Florida. Prior to that he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Venice Hospital Foundation in Sarasota County, Florida and also served as Senior Vice President of the healthcare system.

Mike's primary role at the Children's Home is to oversee the Capital Campaign for the Madison Youth Ranch. He is also responsible for our planned giving program, as well as our wills and bequest program.



Chapel
Rev. Lauren Dancey
Chaplain

Lauren Dancey grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida, and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies. She has been involved in youth ministry since she was a youth herself, and through this involvement discerned a call to full-time ministry. In pursuit of fulfilling God's call on her life, she enrolled in Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, where she received her master's degree in Divinity.

After seminary, Lauren served in a local church and as a hospital chaplain. She was ordained on a provisional basis in June 2010, and began her ministry as Chaplain at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in the same month. While pursuing her seminary degree, Lauren met her husband Drew Dancey. He also serves as a pastor in the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church.



Residential Care
Mindy Chambers
LMHC, Residential Care Director

Mindy Chambers, LMHC, serves as the Residential Care Director at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. Mindy is responsible for the leadership, operations, planning and implementation of programs, having the largest Residential Care program capacity within the state of Florida.

Mindy has developed 10 Residential Care programs consisting of 13 cottages and 5 specialized programs: Teen Mother/Baby, Specialized Therapeutic Group Home, Emergency Shelter, Sexually Reactive Boys, and Preparation for Adult Living. Mindy is also responsible for the senior leadership of Admissions, Clinical, Education, Medical, and Recreation programs.

As a former certified social worker and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Mindy is involved with the Florida Coalition for Children, United Methodist Association, and the Alliance for Children and Families. Mindy is also a peer reviewer for EAGLE.



Independent Living
Dr. Debra Suto Henry
Independent Living Director

Debra Suto Henry has served at the Children's Home for 22 years in many capacities. Currently, Debra is the Independent Living Director and is developing the Independent Living program for the campus based on her research on "Emotional Intelligence and Adolescents in Residential Care." Debra is a Certified Peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation, and since 1997 has been a team member on numerous reviews all over the country. Debra received her BSW degree from the University of Central Florida, her MSW from Florida State University, and her Ph.D. from Barry University.



Early Childhood Education
Jayne Carroll
Director of Early Childhood Education Montessori Preschool

Jayne Carroll has served the Florida United Methodist Children's Home for 10 years. She is the director of In As Much, the Early Childhood Educational program on campus. Jayne has been in Early Childhood Education and Administration for 25 years. She is a long time member of National Association of Child Care Management (FACCM) and the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC).



Operations
Tom Rockwell
VP of Operations

Tom Rockwell has over 30 years experience in the Human Services Counseling field. His management experience includes Residential Youth Care, Employee Learning, Human Resources, Performance & Quality Improvement and Facilities. Tom has served a number of roles at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home since 1990, working with diverse resident and staff groups, and now oversees the operations of the facility.



Finance
Tom Levesque
VP of Finance

Tom Levesque joined FUMCH in 2011 after serving as CFO for another Central Florida non-profit organization (Give Kids The World) for approximately nine years. He is a licensed CPA with an MBA degree from the University of Central Florida.

Tom brings a strong blend of quantitative and verbal skills drawn from his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and graduate degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Florida State University. Tom's primary role at the Children's Home includes financial management, budgeting, IRS reporting and working with our external auditors to present our financial statements to interested stakeholders.



Foster Care

Wayne Strickland
Program Development Sr. Director

Wayne Strickland, LCSW, serves as the Senior Director for Program Development at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. His career in child welfare spans over 37 years. In his current capacity Wayne is directly responsible for managing and the development of all satellite operations. In 2009 Wayne provided leadership for the rebranding of foster care services as Open Hearts Family Services. Currently Open Hearts is operating in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia, Flagler and Hillsborough Counties.
